Kimmy Hussey is a contemporary British painter based in St. Ives, with a studio nestled on a farm in Towednack. Kimmy's work is colourful, dynamic and botanical. Inspired by the subtropical plant life that thrives in Cornwall, and the unique light and colour found in West Penwith.
Her work consists of dreamlike garden abstracts, vivid landscapes, and naïve still lifes. Colour and pattern combinations are recognisable throughout her works, creating a distinctive and impactful style. The outcome is unapologetically bright and joyful.
She studied at Leeds Collage of Art and Design and attended University of The Arts London where she gained a degree in Set Design for Screen, she graduated in 2013. Her work has been shown at the Penwith Gallery, St. Ives Society of Artists, Bayspace St Ives and The Summerhouse Gallery in Marazion.
